Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week
This week is National Apprenticeship Week and we wanted to use the opportunity to introduce one of our apprentices, Faith Colbourne . Faith is studying for her Level 2 Marketing Executive qualification alongside working at Asahi UK in the Marketing department. She has been with us since September and has rotated around different departments including PR and on-trade. We sat down with her to find out about her experience so far.
Can you talk us through a typical day in your role?
It really varies! Some of my tasks recently include supporting with ideation and development of brand plans, managing Meantime glassware and creating new business assets, but every day is different. I also have one study day a week which I use to complete coursework.
What has been the highlight of your apprenticeship?
One of my favourite parts of the role is how creative it is and being able to see the physical product at the end of a project. I recently helped design a Peroni Nastro Azzurro Christmas pack that was sent out to customers, and it was great to be involved with this from the design stage to seeing the final package when it was delivered.
What are you most looking forward to?
For my next rotation I’ll be working with the events team, and it happens to fall during summer when some of our showcase events take place including BST festival Hyde Park, Royal Ascot, and the Premiership Rugby final. I’m a huge fan of live music so I’m really looking forward to going behind the scenes and helping the team bring the experiences to life for customers.

If someone was thinking of applying for an apprenticeship, what advice would you give them?
I would say be confident and determined. It’s a tough market and you might receive multiple rejections, but the right apprenticeship is out there for everyone. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, it’s a great opportunity for you to get hands-on experience and learn new skills at the same time so enjoy every second!
How was the Hospitality Apprenticeship Showcase?
Attending the event at Parliament was a fantastic experience, especially since it was my first time there. It was an incredible opportunity to meet my local MP and connect with fellow apprentices. This experience helped me learn vital communication skills and I gained confidence in sharing my experiences. I'm excited to implement what I've learned in my upcoming projects!
