In this issue of 'The Debrief', we are honouring those past and present, who have served as Military personal for Military Appreciation Month.
The month of May provides an opportunity to show appreciation for the sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve in the military and the dedication of their spouses and families by celebrating Military Appreciation Month.
May is a time of reflection, gratitude, and celebration, dedicated to honoring the sacrifices and contributions of our military personnel, past and present.
What is Military Appreciation Month?
Established by Congress in 1999, Military Appreciation Month is an opportunity for the nation to express gratitude to the members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, Space Force, and National Guard, and their families. Throughout the month of May, various military-related anniversaries and events are commemorated.
While the entirety of the month is dedicated to honoring both past and present military members along with their families, it also features various distinct military holidays dispersed throughout the month including Loyalty Day, VE Day, Military Spouse Appreciation Day, Mother’s Day, and Armed Forces Day, leading up to the solemn observance of Memorial Day.
Celebrating Military Appreciation Month
In addition to nationwide observances, many communities mark Military Appreciation Month with local events such as parties, picnics, and parades. The celebrations serve as a reminder of the bonds between military personnel and their communities. Beyond serving as a time for festivities and remembrance, Military Appreciation Month serves a deeper purpose. It provides a platform for raising awareness about the challenges faced by the military community and fosters dialogue to promote understanding.
Afterburner is proud to be a veteran owned and operated business. We are proud to honor the courageous individuals who have dedicated themselves to the service of our nation. May this month serve as a beacon of appreciation, reminding us of the sacrifices made by our military. Together, let us salute their valor and commitment, today and always.
