Celebrating Mentoring this January

Whether we know it or not, we have all likely been positively impacted by someone in our professional or personal life through mentorship. A seasoned expert at work may have taken us under their wing, pouring knowledge and sharing fruits of their experience with us, or someone may have encouraged our growth and development in an area of need.?

The importance and value of mentorship in our daily lives cannot go unnoticed. And the beauty of mentoring is the real value that can be reciprocated both ways, especially in a professional environment. While we traditionally think of the mentee as the main benefactor in any mentor-mentee relationship, a mentor can benefit in a number of ways as well. There is the personal satisfaction of helping someone, but an executive leader could also learn from understanding a younger person’s perspective, which could assist them in their ability to lead and inspire change across all levels of an organization.?

At SIREAS, our leaders and employees have benefitted both from receiving mentorship and mentoring others. In an industry like CRE where relationships are truly essential to the everyday course of business, we can all recognize the value of extending to someone else the kind of support that has helped us get to where we are.?
