Q: Tell us a little about your role and what a “day in the life” might look like for you.
Being a production manager consists of interacting with team members on a daily basis.?We have a daily meeting with the each shift where we discuss how we performed the previous day, along with topics on safety, lean improvements, recognition and other communications.?Since my team creates custom products at a lower volume, we spend time with our team leads early into first?shift to set goals and expectations for the next 24 hours.?This really allows me to gather a pulse on where our challenges or bottlenecks occur.?From there, our supervisor team does a phenomenal job executing the plan and ensuring the rest of the team is on board.?The rest of my day is spent preparing for future labor needs, assisting scheduling in setting up achievable plans, One-on-One's (O3's) with my team on a weekly basis with focus on development, navigating and updating others on metrics and more.
Q: Why have you chosen a career in manufacturing?
I really enjoy the opportunity to interact and challenge myself by leading and developing skills in others.?I also enjoy the quick pace of manufacturing and the variation it can bring on a daily basis.?I have consistencies each day, but it can often change quickly.
Q: What’s something you admire about the people on your team?
I admire their desire to succeed and put forth the extra effort to do whatever it takes to get a job done.?They are always willing to go the extra mile or spend time to ensure the team and business is set up for success.?The other thing that I really admire is their desire for feedback and always wanting to grow.?Providing feedback to a team that is so willing to absorb and digest that feedback to better themselves is incredibly refreshing as a leader.

Q: What career advice would you give to your younger self?
I would have told myself to get involved more and put myself in situations that are out of my comfort zone to learn as much as possible.?Sometimes it's easy to get complacent and comfortable, so getting out of your comfort zone can open up opportunities you didn't even know existed.
Q: Why did you choose Greenheck Group?
Originally I had a couple college friends that were finishing their co-op roles here and spoke very highly of Greenheck Group.?I had worked in manufacturing during high school and over college breaks, so I was somewhat familiar with the industry.?Once I came on board and witnessed the culture that Greenheck Group brings, I knew that this was somewhere I wanted to work for a long time.
