Highlights from the NECCUS Young Professionals Award Ceremony – Sponsored by ESSRecruit?

The inaugural NECCUS Young Professionals Award, sponsored by ESSRecruit was awarded last week.

The award, in its inaugural year, is a celebration of the extraordinary talents of young professionals who have made remarkable strides in communicating and addressing the Net Zero Challenge.

This prestigious accolade is not just an award; it is a recognition of innovation, dedication, and the pioneering spirit of our young leaders in shaping a sustainable future.

This award was part of the DeCarb Scotland Conference aptly set in the impressive surroundings of BT Murrayfield Stadium celebrated the outstanding contributions of these young leaders but also highlighted the importance of innovative thinking in addressing the Net Zero Challenge.

Impressive Applications:

In introducing the award, Craig Jackson, Director of ESSRecruit took time to applaud the efforts and achievements of these young visionaries. Noting that their work not only contributes to Net Zero’s immediate goals but sets a powerful example for generations to come.

He went on to say that the calibre of applications this year was exceptionally high, showcasing a breadth of innovation and commitment that deeply impressed the judging panel. The decision-making process was challenging, reflecting the remarkable quality and diversity of the entrants. Each application was a testament to the incredible talent and dedication of young professionals in the field of industrial decarbonisation. The judges faced a difficult task in selecting a winner, underscoring the high standards and bright future of this industry. The finalist being a credit to themselves and indeed their employers.

Winners Announcement:

The most awaited moment of the morning was the announcement by Neil Gray MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Wellbeing Economy, Fair Work and Energy, Scottish Government of the winner. ?

Doga Satir of SSE was awarded the prestigious title, recognized for their significant impact in effectively communicating the Net Zero Challenge.

The remaining finalists, Jonny Brattle – Net Zero Technology Centre, Rodrigo Oropesa – Storegga, Shelly Wilson – ERM, and Elle Lashko – Storegga all received certificates of commendation in recognition of their impressive contributions.
