1. US Inflation Reduction Act’s (IRA) Second Anniversary??

Since August 2022, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) has injected billions into U.S. manufacturers striving for sustainability, enabling significant investments in renewable energy, batteries, and emissions-reducing technologies at lower costs. These efforts have sparked the creation of over 300,000 green jobs and spurred the development of new green technology factories nationwide. 2. Long Series of Heat Record Finally Ends

?After 13 months straight of heat records, July was the first month in over a year not to be the hottest month since records began. Although this is good news for the global climate, it still puts 2024 on track to be the hottest year ever.

3. EU Wind and Solar Produce More Energy Than Fossil Fuels

For the first time, the EU’s energy mix comprised more solar and wind power (30%) than fossil fuels (27%) in the first half of 2024. This represented a 17% fall in energy produced from fossil fuels.

4.US Wind and Solar Energy More Than Coal

Not to be left behind, US wind and solar energy production are set to overtake coal in 2024. With a surge in solar this year and coal plants being decommissioned, the first seven months of 2024 have already seen more energy produced by wind and solar than coal, and that is likely to continue for the rest of the year.
