Celebrating Hospitality and Tradition ????The First Bartender Posada with Don Julio

A Posada is a cherished Mexican tradition, rooted in community, togetherness, and the spirit of hospitality. Traditionally held during the holiday season, Posadas reenact Mary and Joseph’s search for shelter in Bethlehem, bringing people together to share food, drinks, and joy. It’s a time to celebrate generosity and the warmth of welcoming others—a sentiment deeply ingrained in both Mexican culture and the hospitality industry.

Inspired by this tradition, Don Julio adapted the Posada concept to honor the bartending and hospitality community in Zurich. The first Bartender Posada with Don Julio started with a vibrant Mexican brunch at La Catedral hosted by the incredible Luis Estrada ?whose hospitality and passion set the tone for the day.

Afterward, bartenders embraced the traditional Posada journey, moving through Zurich while symbolically “asking for shelter.” Their journey ended at @slurp., where they were warmly welcomed by the talented Patrik Horvath and @Patrik Varga who embodied the true spirit of hospitality by offering warm Ponche, a traditional Mexican spiced drink. And, as any authentic Posada must, the event featured a Pi?ata, bringing an extra spark of joy to the celebration.


This Posada wasn’t just about tradition—it was a heartfelt way to recognize and celebrate the incredible people in the hospitality and bartending community. Day after day, these individuals dedicate themselves to hard work, creativity, and making guests feel at home, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.
