October 15th marks the conclusion of this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to honor and celebrate the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. A Brief History

Hispanic Heritage Month was established in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week. In 1988, it was expanded to a month-long celebration. The dates were chosen to coincide with the independence days of several Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua (September 15th), Mexico (September 16th), and Chile (September 18th). ?

This month-long observance is an opportunity to:
