Celebrating World Little League Champs !
Honolulu Hale is sponsoring a parade to honor Hawaii's Little League World Champions 2022. Congratulations are in order for all of the players, their parents, families and supporters.
Coach Gerald Oda?firmly believes in the Little League principles of character, courage and loyalty, and devotes time before and after work as well as many nights and weekends to his team.
Throughout his many years of coaching Little League, Oda has become a trusted teacher, friend, and confidante to the literally hundreds of kids who have played on his teams. During the Little League World Series, Oda made sure the players kept their ‘aloha’ spirit while guiding the kids to victory. He instills in his teams the importance of staying humble and playing the game the right way both on and off the field.??
Oda's team made headlines in 2018 for the great respect it showed toward?the Korean team it played in the finals. Again in 2022, one of the opposing coaches whose team played the eventual champions complained that he hated that the Honolulu team was so good, and boasted that they were also so nice.
“Volunteering has made my life richer, and given me a sense of fulfillment. I found my purpose,” Coach Oda explained.
Today we want to give a shout out to all the countless volunteers who devote their time and energy in teaching the younger generation to have fun in the moment and to be grateful for all the opportunities they are given. They have found their purpose.
P.S. Do you remember the name of your Little League coach?
