Celebrating Growth and Achievement: My Closing Day Speech at the Summer Camp

Ladies and Gentlemen, Respected Principal Mr. Raja Sharma, Esteemed Guests, Faculty Members, and my dear Students,

A very good morning to each one of you!

It fills my heart with immense joy to stand before you today as we celebrate the closing day of our vibrant summer camp. Over these past ten days, we have witnessed a magnificent tapestry of creativity, enthusiasm, and talent woven by our students. From Block and Rock to Web Wonders, Ink Artistry to Jewel Crafters, Blazing Wheels to Smash Stars, Colorful Creators to Media Navigators, Needle Crafters to Hooking Art, Tasty Platter to Wonders of Beads, Dance, Melody Makers, Table Toppers, and Dolphin Diving – each activity has shone a light on the boundless potential that resides within our young minds.

As we look back on these wonderful days, I am reminded of the timeless words of Albert Einstein: "Creativity is intelligence having fun." Indeed, our summer camp has been a playground where intelligence and creativity have joyfully danced together, allowing our students to discover and nurture their unique talents.

Hobbies and extracurricular activities are not mere diversions; they are the very crucibles in which our personalities are forged, our skills are sharpened, and our lives are enriched. The great philosopher Plato once remarked, "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything." In the same spirit, every activity we engage in adds depth and color to our existence.

As I am student and teacher of psychology so From a psychological perspective, engaging in hobbies and extracurricular activities is vital for our mental well-being. These pursuits reduce stress, enhance self-esteem, and provide a profound sense of accomplishment. They teach us perseverance, teamwork, and problem-solving – essential qualities that contribute to our overall growth and happiness.

As I very well connected will legal studies so Legally, Article 31 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child underscores the right of children to engage in play and recreational activities. This is not merely a privilege but a fundamental right that supports their development and well-being.

Envision a world where our hobbies and interests transform into our careers. As the illustrious Mark Twain once said, "Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life." When our passions become our professions, work ceases to be a chore and transforms into a joyous and fulfilling endeavour. This summer camp has provided a glimpse into that delightful possibility, encouraging our students to delve deeply into their interests and consider them as potential career paths.

Having taught journalism, I have seen firsthand the power of turning a hobby into a meaningful pursuit. Journalism as a hobby cultivates a curious mind, a fearless spirit, and an articulate voice. It teaches us to question, to explore, and to communicate effectively. Our students, like Sanskriti, who is quite understanding, Inhsika, who is fearless, Arnab, with his great mind, Avneet, with his profound thinking, Aviyan, with his clear voice, Aradhya, who is outspoken, Ayush, who is excellent with maths, using his skills beneficially in journalism, and Abhinav, whose balanced voice is a pleasure to hear, have all exemplified these qualities throughout the camp.

I would be remiss if I did not mention Gurmkamal Sir, our esteemed maths teacher, an all-rounder, and the person who invited me here. His dedication, versatility, and unwavering support have been instrumental in making this camp a success. Gurmkamal Sir is not just a teacher; he is a mentor and a source of inspiration for both students and colleagues.

In the poetic words of Rabindranath Tagore, "The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough." Let us cherish these moments of creativity and joy, understanding that the skills and memories we have cultivated here will last a lifetime.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Vijay Lakshmi Rawat, Chairperson of the Family Welfare Centre, Forever Victorious Brigade, for her invaluable support. Her efforts in connecting the AWWA members and trained parents with our school have been instrumental in making this camp a resounding success. She has inspired us all to become 'friend entrepreneurs,' turning our skills into viable means of livelihood, and contributing to a stronger, more self-sufficient society.

As we bring this chapter of our summer camp to a close, let us carry forward the spirit of exploration, creativity, and joy into our daily lives. Let us continue to nurture our hobbies and extracurricular activities, knowing that they are not mere pursuits of leisure but pathways to a fulfilling and prosperous future.

Thank you all for your participation, enthusiasm, and support. Here's to many more moments of learning, growing, and achieving together.

Thank you, and may you have a wonderful day ahead!
