Celebrating Episode 300

Celebrating Episode 300

Six years ago, our team ventured into uncharted territory by launching the “Something Extra” podcast. Today, we celebrate a monumental milestone—our 300th episode!

Since 2018, we've poured countless hours into crafting over 2,000 hours of content, with an equal amount of effort dedicated to preparation, production, and post-production. This journey has been a labor of love, and I’m immensely grateful to everyone who has made it possible.

While I have the honor of hosting, the podcast is truly a team effort. A huge shout-out to David Alexander, who inspired me to start this journey, and to Brian Moncey, who was instrumental in getting us off the ground. ?Special thanks to Morgan Cochran and Reagan Imergoot for their marketing magic, Kendall Brewer and Scott Crosby for keeping us on track during transitions, and to our late friend and brilliant audio engineer Daniel Williams. I’m also grateful to Joe Szynkowski, Landon Burke, Caleb Heal, and Greg Nichols (my biggest cheerleader). Lastly, a heartfelt thank you to the amazing Jenny Heal for her tireless efforts in scheduling, research, vetting, and everything else that made this podcast shine.

To our incredible guests, I’m honored and humbled that you took the time out of your busy lives to share your stories with us. It’s your insights and experiences that have made the podcast so special. Thank you!?

And to our loyal listeners—thank you. Your support and feedback have been the driving force behind this journey. Knowing that the podcast has made a difference in your lives is what has kept us going these past six years.

As we celebrate this milestone, here are a few interesting stats about “Something Extra”:

  • There are 4.2 million active podcasts available in 2024
  • According to Listen Notes, “Something Extra” ranks in the top 2.5%
  • Our listeners span 6 continents, 114 countries, and 2,993 cities
  • 80% of you tune in via mobile
  • We’ve produced over 2,000 hours of content with over 2,000 hours of prep work

I’m filled with gratitude for everyone who has contributed to the success of “Something Extra.” This journey has been one of growth, learning, and inspiration. I’m excited for what lies ahead and look forward to many more episodes, stories, and connections. Thank you for being part of this incredible experience—whether as a guest, team member, or listener. Together, we’re making an impact. Here’s to many more milestones!

Lisa what an incredible milestone! I've been busy producing shows, but I wanted to give a thoughtful reply, CONGRATULATIONS!?I still remember when we first tossed around the idea, back when podcasting was still in its early stages. People weren't doing live podcast events, turning events into podcasts, or leveraging them systematically with social media strategy, landing pages, etc. Not like today at least. You were pioneering a new space! It was such an honor to play a small role in launching the show and laying the foundation. In many ways, this podcast was the launching pad for so many others I've produced since. The ripple effect is/was incredible! Thank you for trialing the podcast "idea", and a huge shoutout to Greg Nichols for investing in your vision & voice ??. So cool!
