Celebrating Emirati Women's Day: powering diversity, driving change

On Emirati Women's Day, we celebrate the incredible achievements and contributions of Emirati women in the banking and finance sector. At LIBF, we take pride in contributing to this important journey by promoting gender diversity and aligning with the UAE's national strategy for women's empowerment through our strategic partnership with ADGM Academy . ADGM Academy’s national development programmes offer crucial upskilling and reskilling opportunities, equipping UAE Nationals with both soft and technical skills. This collaboration underscores ADGM Academy’s dedication to nurturing the talents of Emirati women, aligning with our shared commitment to their empowerment.?

Last year, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, affectionately known as the ‘Mother of the Nation,’ introduced the ‘National Strategy for the Empowerment of Emirati Women in the UAE for 2023-2031'. This comprehensive strategy aims to enhance the legislative and regulatory framework that supports women's quality of life and strengthen their position both in the country and around the world. It is built on three fundamental pillars: establishing interdependent, cohesive, and supportive families to enhance women's roles in society; integrating women into the workforce and future sectors; and developing capacities and enhancing future skills for women.?

At LIBF, our mission aligns with these pillars by providing resources for women to thrive in the banking and finance industry.? We understand the important role women have in shaping the future of finance and are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment that supports their talents and ambitions. We focus on making education accessible to all.?

Enhancing women's roles in society?

The first pillar of the National Strategy focuses on building cohesive families that support women's roles in society. We believe that education and professional development are vital in achieving this goal. Our flexible learning opportunities and programmes, fit learning around living enabling women to balance their professional and personal responsibilities. Our programmes are designed to empower women with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in their careers while maintaining strong family ties.?

Integrating women into the workforce?

According to a study by the Pearl Initiative, a non-profit organisation, 71% of women in UAE stated that an organisational culture that supports women in the workforce was the key factor in encouraging their career progression. This brings us to the second pillar, that focuses on helping women enter the workforce and emerging industries. At LIBF, we provide courses and qualifications that give women with the skills they need to succeed in the evolving financial landscape. Our programmes encourage women to take on leadership roles and break the glass ceiling in banking and finance. By promoting a culture of inclusivity and equal opportunities, we help bridge the gender gap and ensure that women are well-represented across all levels of the industry.?

Developing future skills?

The third pillar is about developing capacities and enhancing future skills for women. We offer a range of cutting-edge programmes that focus on the latest trends and technologies in finance, such as fintech, digital transformation, and cyber risk management. Our collaboration with esteemed partners and clients across the MENA region further expands our reach, making our world-class education accessible. Through our training and qualifications, participants gain the confidence and capabilities to navigate the complexities of the financial sector and drive innovation.?

?As we celebrate Emirati Women's Day, we're proud to support and uplift women in the banking and finance industry. The National Strategy for the Empowerment of Emirati Women sets a strong foundation, and at LIBF, we're dedicated to advancing these goals through education and career development. Let's work together to build a future where women lead in finance, driving us toward a more inclusive and successful society.?
