At CDW, we're committed to being responsible stewards of the environment and our planet's natural resources. We continuously strive to improve our environmental performance while growing our business and supporting our partners and customers in their own sustainability efforts.

As a global organization striving to be part of the solution in addressing common purposes and opportunities for action, in early 2023, we aligned our ESG efforts with eight of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our approach to climate action is to be a connector of ideas in collaboration with key partners and customers in the technology industry to reduce emissions and meet shared environmental goals.

CDW is committed to doing our part to address climate change, including ongoing efforts to improve the energy efficiency of our business. However, given the non-manufacturing nature of our operations, our facilities do not represent a significant climate footprint. Our biggest opportunities for reducing greenhouse gas emissions lie in working with our customers and partners to achieve these goals.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we believe it's important to partner with vendors who share our values. Here are five quick wins that every company can consider when selecting vendors to help make #Earth Day something that lasts into our futures:

1.?????Choose vendors with ESG practices: Look for vendors with sustainability commitments and certifications.

2.?????Encourage sustainable transportation and delivery methods.

3.?????Reduce packaging waste by requesting minimal packaging and using recyclable or compostable materials.

4.?????Set and collaborate on sustainability goals and establish metrics to measure progress.

5.?????Communicate ESG expectations clearly and incorporate them into contracts and agreements.

At CDW, we have advanced our own sustainability efforts by enabling online searchable access for customers to an expanded portfolio of environmentally certified products and cloud-based solutions that improve energy efficiency. Our efforts also include focusing on waste reduction at our facilities and expanding our participation in leading electronics recycling programs that benefit our customers, partners and communities.

In the past year, we have made significant progress on our environmental priorities, including:

·??????Creating our Climate Task Force and working with outside experts to develop our long-term, enterprise-wide climate strategy and action plans

·??????At our two US distribution centers, outperformed our waste diversion goal of +90% for the fourth year in a row and recycled thousands of tons of packaging material, cardboard and paper

·??????Enabled online searchable access for customers to an expanded portfolio of environmentally certified products (Energy Star, EPEAT and TCO Certified) and a broad range of cloud-based solutions that improve energy efficiency

·??????Expanded our IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) program, which facilitates the recovery and recycling of devices that are no longer being used – to benefit the environment and protect the security of users’ data

·??????Maintained our environmental management system and energy certifications in the US, Canada and UK

To further scale our electronics recycling efforts, we plan to build more recycling and takeback programs into our existing key partner relationships throughout the product lifecycle — from purchase to maintenance, proper disposition, and purchase of new devices.
