A Note From Our CEO
Advanced Energy United will be closed on Monday, January 20 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day as we commemorate Dr. King’s lifetime of service and unwavering commitment to opportunity for all. Monday is also designated as a National Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer and improve their communities as part of “a day on, not a day off.” As we reflect on Dr. King’s legacy, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that the energy transition delivers benefits to communities across the nation, including energy affordability, reliability, and the dignity of work.
Policy Update
This week, New York’s State of the State address highlighted key clean energy initiatives, including the largest climate investment in New York state history. Governor Kathy Hochul’s plan spans several different sectors and includes retrofitting homes and incentivizing the installation of heat pumps. United’s Kristina Persaud commended Governor Hochul for her continued leadership in advancing New York's clean energy future. Read more.>?
Governor Newsom and his administration unveiled California’s 2025-26 $322 billion budget this week. Despite touting no deficits, the budget notably misses opportunities to significantly increase funding for energy resilience and clean energy. United’s Edson Perez urged Governor Newsom and state leaders to commit to programs and policies that strengthen climate mitigation and clean energy programs that offer long-term affordability solutions, support grid reliability, and protect communities that are most vulnerable and critical in advancing California’s resilience, safety, and job growth.
