Celebrating Doctors' Day 2023

Today is National Doctors’ Day, an annual observance celebrating the dedication of physicians everywhere and an opportunity to?express our gratitude to our incredible doctors at UC Davis Health.??

Your love of medicine and your compassion radiate outwards to all you serve, our patients especially. Each one of you is highly valued as part of our total team.?This includes graduates of the?UC Davis School of Medicine, and UC Davis Health physicians, fellows, and residents across Northern California.?

We understand the countless sacrifices and total focus that you’ve brought to the monumental tasks at hand, and deeply appreciate your professionalism and dedication throughout all the ups and downs of the last few years.?The good news is that we’re building the future of health care at UC Davis Health on many fronts, including:

• Planning underway to more than double the number of ambulatory clinic spaces in the years ahead.?
• California Tower – acuity-adaptable, rooms of the future under construction.
• Tschannen Eye Center opened.
• New ambulatory surgery center underway.?
• Rehabilitation hospital opening soon.
• New, upgraded medical campuses in Rocklin, Elk Grove.
• Digital platforms expanding, increase in virtual health, health equity initiatives.
• Cultivating relationships with local physician groups.
• More outpatient service areas will also take pressure off UC Davis Medical Center, which has run full or near capacity for several years now.?
• Our suburban medical facilities are set to provide more outpatient and rehabilitative services.
• Providing pediatric telehealth services to the 14 mostly rural and underserved Northern California counties through the Partnership HealthPlan of California (PHC).?
• Training medical student leaders to identify, understand, and serve the unique health needs of California's rural, urban, and valley communities.
