WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC?and to secure to all its citizens: JUSTICE, social, economic and political; LIBERTY?of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; EQUALITY?of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all FRATERNITY?assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation; IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this 26th day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION

Constitution Day also known as 'Samvidhan Divas', is celebrated in our country on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th January 1950. On November 19, 2015, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Central Government had announced that November 26 would be celebrated as Constitution Day every year. Constitution Day is not a holiday, but various programs are organized in various government departments, organizations, corporates and educational institutions on this occasion, so that the awareness and understanding of our constitution is promoted among all.

OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION

Constitution Day also known as 'Samvidhan Divas', is celebrated in our country on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th January 1950. On November 19, 2015, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Central Government had announced that November 26 would be celebrated as Constitution Day every year. Constitution Day is not a holiday, but various programs are organized in various government departments, organizations, corporates and educational institutions on this occasion, so that the awareness and understanding of our constitution is promoted among all.

Main Principles of The Indian Constitution

1. Sovereignty: India is a sovereign state, meaning it has supreme authority within its territory and is free from external control.

2. Socialism: The Constitution aims to reduce inequality in income and status, and to provide a decent standard of living for all citizens.

3. Secularism: India is a secular state, which means there is no official state religion. The Constitution guarantees all citizens the freedom to practice, profess, and propagate any religion.

7. Equality: The Constitution ensures equality before the law and equal protection of the laws to all individuals, prohibiting discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex, or place of birth.

8. Fraternity: It promotes a sense of brotherhood among all citizens, ensuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the nation.

9. Federalism: India has a federal structure with a clear division of powers between the central government and state governments.

10. Judicial Independence: The judiciary is independent of the executive and legislative branches, ensuring fair and impartial justice.

11. Fundamental Rights: The Constitution enshrines fundamental rights that protect the liberties and freedoms of individuals against any arbitrary actions by the state.

12. Directive Principles of State Policy: These principles guide the government in making policies and laws aimed at creating a just society.
