St. Francis Center for Renewal, Bethlehem, shines its light on TEACHERS! Day of Reflection for Teachers: Finding Your Own Calcutta

We are each called to spread the gospel message where we are. For some, how this unfolds may not be traditional or even familiar. How are we “living gospels” openly and effectively when society sets constraints on how and where this way of life can be shared? Through this special day of reflection, designed especially for parochial and public school teachers, we will consider St. Teresa of Calcutta and the example she set forth as a model for all to embrace.  This program will be conducted entirely online through Zoom. Sessions are scheduled for 9:30 - 11 a.m. and from 1 - 2:30 p.m.

FACILITATOR: Alexandria Cirko spent more than 35 years in education. As a Teacher, Principal and Assistant Superintendent, she shared the Catholic faith with students in all grade levels. She has led retreats at St. Francis Center for Renewal for teachers and administrators. Currently, Alex is in the Chaplain Residency Program at Frederick Health Hospital in Maryland, where she continues to offer spiritual care to patients and staff.

Almighty God, We come to you today and give special thanks for all our teachers. Thank you for the way in which they give of themselves each day, serving and instructing the next generation of this land. We thank you for them all now.

Father, please fill their hearts with COURAGE now by your mighty Spirit.

Fill them with your STRENGTH, so they may rise to every challenge and not grow weary.

Fill them with your WISDOM, so that they may be able to make good judgement when guiding and helping others.

Fill them with your PEACE, so that when stress and anxiety comes it would not overwhelm them.

Fill them with your JOY, so that the LOVE they have for their students may become an infectious LOVE that spreads.

We ask all this in the wonderful name of Jesus. Amen.
