Celebrating the Arab World: A Journey Through Coffee Table Books

Sometimes, inspiration emerges from the most unexpected places. For Nagham Dahbour and me, the idea for our coffee table book series was born out of a deep connection to our heritage and a shared dream to celebrate the beauty of the Arab world. From grief and hardship, we found the drive to create something meaningful and lasting.

Our journey began with The Levantine Series, a collection of four coffee table books that pay tribute to the enchanting beauty and profound cultural richness of Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.

Each book is a visual and emotional journey, carefully curated to reflect the soul of each nation through stunning photography. The symbols chosen for each country — the olive tree for Palestine, the oak tree for Jordan, the cedar cone for Lebanon, and the jasmine for Syria — embody peace, wisdom, strength, and grace.

The Levant is just the beginning. Our vision extends far beyond these four countries. Nagham and I are passionate about showcasing the wonders of all 22 Arab nations. Each country has its own unique beauty waiting to be celebrated. From the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula to the lush landscapes of North Africa, we aim to create a comprehensive series that honors the diversity and unity of the Arab world.

This project is more than just a series of books; it is a labor of love, a tribute to our roots, and a way to connect people to the Arab world’s beauty. Through collaboration with talented photographers, we hope to capture the essence of these lands and present it to a global audience. These books are meant to inspire, and serve as a reminder of the enduring beauty and resilience of our region.

Launching this series has been a journey of its own, filled with challenges, learning experiences, and moments of profound joy. It has taught us the power of photography and the importance of preserving cultural heritage.
