Celebrating 50 years of NCHA

This month we’ve been celebrating 50 years of NCHA.?

It’s an incredible achievement. And one that I, as Chair of NCHA’s Board, am proud to play a part in.

50 years of better lives

We acknowledged the milestone with an exhibition, book and film launch at Nottingham Contemporary, showcasing a few of the amazing stories we’ve played a part in over the years. It was an honour to celebrate with friends, colleagues and customers, both past and present.

If you weren’t able to come to the exhibition, view the content on our website, and take a journey back through the last 50 years and learn about a few of the lives that have been impacted by NCHA.

International tree planting initiative

To mark our 50th birthday, I was delighted that the Board funded the planting of a tree for every day we’ve been operating. That’s a grand total of 18,262 trees!

The trees have been planned in partnership with Ecologi | B Corp? , a movement that works with businesses to create climate solutions. The trees will be donated across the world, to support projects including reforestation and saving at-risk fruit tree species.?

It was really important to Board that we did something to reflect NCHA’s environmental agenda, and we’re delighted to hear that the trees will remove well over 10,000 tonnes of CO2 over their lifetime.?

Better Lives Awards

In October we’re hosting our first ever Better Lives Awards. We’ll be celebrating customers and colleagues who’ve achieved great things and supported us to reach our 50th birthday. Visit our website to find out more about the awards and nominate your own personal heroes.

The awards ceremony will be held on 4 October 2023 and you’ll be able to tune in live online. Look out for more details nearer the time.
