Celebrating 35 years!

Celebrating 35 years!

MESSAGE FROM DEBORA B. FREITAS LóPEZ

This year, CCP is celebrating a significant milestone in our journey. We are turning 35, and I am excited to take part in the festivities as a member of this global family! ?

As a result of CCP’s work since 1988, more people in the U.S. and around the world have adopted healthy behaviors. More people have chosen modern family planning and made nutritious food choices. Through efforts such as this one in Nepal, more people have challenged harmful gender and social norms. Globally, more people than ever before now know how to protect themselves from COVID-19 and other infectious diseases such as malaria, HIV, and TB. More people have shared key knowledge, gained access to research, and translated lessons learned into effective programs and resilient health systems . We are also proud of being a part of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health , and a part of the Health, Behavior, and Society Department since 2005. ?

On behalf of CCP, I hope you will join us in celebrating this special moment. After all, you have also played a role in our decades of impact and success. Send us a message with best wishes or with a favorite memory, share photos or videos, maybe wish us happy birthday in your native language or even show off your dance moves. Get creative! ?

We will share your messages across social media as part of our 35th?birthday celebration this November. If you would like to join the party with your own social media message, please tag @johnshopkinsccp and use the hashtag #CCPturns35! ?

This is just my first year with CCP, but I could not be prouder to be part of such a storied center, which began with a vision to bring modern contraception to women around the world under Phyllis Piotrow and continued to flourish under the commitment and passion of Jane Bertrand and Susan Krenn. Thanks to all of you for staying on this journey with us.??
