Celebrating 30 Years of the German Chamber of Commerce in China

The 30th anniversary of the German Chamber of Commerce in China marks a major milestone in fostering Sino-German economic relations. VIRTUARCH is proud to have supported this significant event as a sponsor, reflecting our long-standing commitment to this essential organization.

For 21 years, VIRTUARCH has been an active and dedicated member of the German Chamber, and in its work throughout these years VIRTUARCH has contributed numerous impactful projects for German Companies that have helped strengthening the German business presence in China. Our diverse portfolio includes noteworthy collaborations such as the AHK German Chamber Shanghai Office, ALFMEIER Automotive in Shanghai, BOLLHOFF Fastenings in Wuxi, BOMAG in Changzhou, EMAG in Taicang, KERN-LIEBERS in Taicang, KUKA ROBOTICS in Shanghai, SIEMENS in Wuhan and Shenzhen, TAYLOR WESSING in Shanghai, TUENKERS in Taicang, and VOITH in Shanghai, just to name a few.

The anniversary celebration was honored by the presence of the Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck, whose visit in China underscored the importance of German-Chinese relations. In a short talk, Minister Habeck expressed keen interest in our architectural projects, particularly in the realm of energy efficiency. We shared insights about the photovoltaic factory we planned in Suzhou, which is set to produce solar cells with a capacity of around one gigawatt per year. This project exemplifies our commitment to sustainability, integrating renewable energy solutions in all our projects, driving us closer to the goal of net zero emissions.

As China and Europe navigate the challenging journey towards sustainability, our collaborative efforts remain crucial. The increasing exchange of delegations between China and abroad exemplifies the growing dialogue and cooperation needed to address global challenges. Engaging in these conversations fostering mutual understanding is essential, especially also in an environment where de-risking increasingly in the focus.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the board members and employees of the German Chamber whose dedication has sustained this organization over the past three decades. Their unwavering support has been instrumental in promoting German business interests in China, and we look forward to continued collaboration in the years to come.
