October 20th, 2004 marks the beginning of a new Linux distribution called Ubuntu that was released by Canonical. Ubuntu 4.10 "Warty Warthog" was released and set the stage for future innovations and developments. Ubuntu was designed to make Linux more accessible and user-friendly. By 2024, Canonical released Ubuntu 24.10 "Oracular Oriole" to mark this special milestone.
Ubuntu is arguable the best Linux distribution for beginners. However, it's influence extends far beyond the desktop. Ubuntu can be seen in servers, cloud infrastructure, and IoT devices.
