Celebrating 20 Years of Rcapital: The People Behind Rcapital's Success

As we mark Rcapital’s 20th anniversary, it is clear that our success is rooted in the exceptional people who have been part of our team over the years. From the start, our ability to take on increasingly complex projects has been strengthened by our dedicated team and a vast network of skilled operating partners. These partners include traditional finance experts and chairpersons, as well as technically focussed operators in areas including IT, marketing and compliance.

In 2014, Chris Campbell joined us from KPMG UK Deal Advisory , following a brief secondment. Chris has since become a Partner and now leads our new investments team. Having recently completed his 45th deal, his expertise and leadership have been invaluable to our continued growth.

Phil Emmerson brought a wealth of experience in operational and financial restructuring when he joined in 2015. Having worked at KPMG and later as a Partner leading BDO UK LLP Midlands regional company side restructuring team, Phil stepped in as Partner following Peter Ward ’s retirement. His contributions have been significant in shaping our portfolio strategies and operations.

Myles Halley joined Rcapital as our first Chairman in 2011 and served until the end of 2019. His vast expertise in the restructuring market, having been a senior partner and head of restructuring at KPMG, with pragmatic advice, and immense professionalism brought tangible benefits to our people, the quality of our work, and our investments. Above all, his genuine friendship is something we will always cherish.

?In recent years, our investment team has expanded to meet the growing market opportunities. Josie Richardson joined in 2016 from 德勤 , followed by Lewis Burnham in 2020 from BDO and Sam Duberley in 2021 from 安永 . Their additions have strengthened our ability to navigate an increasingly dynamic investment landscape.

Three years ago, Ashley Reek became a Partner at Rcapital, previously serving as the Managing Director of Long Clawson Dairy . Ash’s extensive real-world experience has been instrumental in driving our investment transformations.

?Most recently, we welcomed Sebastien Johnson from Kroll and Andrew Dalton from BTG Advisory , both to work closely with our portfolio, reflecting the hands-on nature of our turnaround work and the support we provide to management teams.

Behind the scenes, we are supported by a loyal Rcapital workforce, some of whom have been with us since the very beginning. Our reception staff, famously dual-talented in stage and screen, have contributed to the unique culture at Rcapital.
