Celebrating 125 years of impact and a bright future
This week, KPMG U.S. partners and professionals came together to celebrate our firm’s 125th anniversary through a day of collective service in our communities.
Since 1897, our firm and our people have taken great pride in serving our clients, communities and the capital markets with excellence. Because of the effort and investments of the professionals who came before us, KPMG has a 125-year legacy of rising to the occasion to help solve our clients’ and communities’ most complex challenges. A legacy worth celebrating.
I had the privilege of kicking off that celebration on Monday night by taking the mound and throwing the ceremonial first pitch at the Yankees game—an incredible experience made even better by the opportunity to watch the game alongside clients and kids from the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club . The next day, on the morning of August 2, our firm’s official anniversary, I stood alongside retired partners and current leaders as I rang the opening bell at Nasdaq , kicking off our Community Impact Day and volunteer activities across the country.
The day saw KPMG professionals throughout our offices volunteering with over 450 local nonprofit organizations in 90 cities across the country. Personally, I spent some time at the NYC Armory Track, where I joined our Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer Elena Richards , and a group of KPMG volunteers to share our favorite books with children and speak with high school students about college prep and career opportunities. Laura Newinski , our Deputy Chair and Chief Operating Officer, was joined by Orlando community leaders to announce new investments in the city—including 650 new jobs in the next 24 months, and a $1 million investment to support local non-profit Lift Orlando . She also spent the day cheering on employees participating in the Miles that Matter fun run at KPMG Lakehouse and touring the Bradley-Otis Boys & Girls Clubs of America .

All in all, the day was a reminder of our obligation to lead with purpose—leaving this firm, our clients, our people, and our communities better than we found them. Right now, we are leading on critical ESG issues to drive progress, prioritizing our people to make sure they thrive and investing in our communities to foster greater resilience. As we look to the next 125 years, and beyond, we are guided by our values—integrity, excellence, courage, together, and for better.
At this exciting moment in our firm’s history, I am proud of our legacy as trusted advisors for our clients. I am proud of the work our people do to better our communities and society. I am proud to be a part of the KPMG community. As I look at the future of our firm, I see the lasting impact our people will continue to make as we deliver on our firm promise.
Thank you for being a part of our KPMG journey.
