Celebrating 100 of the 100,000: Dionna Widder

TeamWork Consulting and TeamWork Online are celebrating the enabling of over 100,000 Real Connections between employers and candidates in the sports and events business. Here's one of 100 of the 100,000 recruits we’re celebrating:

Dionna Widder.  Persistence. In the early 2000s, the Detroit Pistons hosted some of the first TeamWork Online marketed job fairs.  These were not only recruiting events, but they also became great opportunities for the  Pistons to sell tickets.   Teams from across the Midwest lined up to secure interview tables, making the events even more popular.  Dionna, while in school, was a 4-time Pistons job fair attendee.  She was determined to be in the NBA and each year she met more executives.  By her senior year, the Pistons executives recommended that she attend the 2006 NBA, WNBA, D-League “By Invitation Only” Ticket Sales Job Fair.  Having already gotten to know many of sports executives at the Detroit events, she was cool and relaxed.  She landed a job one step above entry level at the Indiana Pacers!  People think “who you know” gets you a job; people “who know you” helps even more
