Celebrate Your Uniqueness
As I was thinking about how we’re all unique in our own way, a famous quote came to mind by Eric Hoffer:
“No matter what our achievements might be, we think well of ourselves only in rare moments. We need people to bear witness against our inner judge, who keeps book on our shortcomings and transgressions. We need people to convince us that we are not as bad as we think we are.”
This is the benefit of being in a community like Growing 365. We help build up and encourage one another.
Isn’t it true that, by and large, we are programmed to think that it is wrong or bad to talk about ourselves, that by doing so, we are somehow bragging or showing off?
I believe that one of the most important things we can do for ourselves, is to acknowledge our accomplishments and to celebrate our own uniqueness and greatness. And the truth is, we need others to help us to remember to do that.
This thought came to me as I began to write: Sometimes the celebration of who we are is not just in the acknowledgement of the apparent “successes” we have had – sometimes it’s in the recognition of the struggles through which we persist.
Learning The Lesson
There are lessons to be learned in everything. In both our successes and in our failures. Many times we take time to analyze our failures, and rightfully so, but we also need to analyze our successes. Because success leaves clues. We can learn from what went well, and create a positive learning model of success in our life.
Make time in your schedule to review your day – every day.
I believe in you; I believe in your dream!
Be blessed,
