I hope you celebrated Healthcare Simulation Week joyfully in your simulation center! As we enter the August-December quarter, it’s a busy time for INACSL, with much to celebrate.
Discover: Our journal, Clinical Simulation in Nursing, continues to thrive under the leadership of Lisa MacKenna . We are proud to share that our year-to-date submissions have increased by 20 percent year-over-year, and average days to first decision are down. We are thankful for the leadership of both new and continuing Associate Editors, including Laura Gantt , Stephen Guinea , Michelle Kelly , Liaw Sok Ying , and Penni Watts PhD, RN, CHSE-A, ANEF, FNAP, FSSH, FAAN
Clinical Simulation in Nursing is now ranked 11th among nursing journals indexed in Web of Science, climbing an impressive 20 spots in 2024. Thank you to our members, worldwide, who contribute high-quality work, helping to advance the science of simulation.
As a friendly reminder, Debra Spunt Grant proposals are due Tuesday, October 15 for both the in-kind category and grants supported by Laerdal Medical .

Create: In October, there are two exciting opportunities to showcase the great work going on in your simulation center.? First, full applications for INACSL Healthcare Simulation Standards EndorsementTM are due October 28. Learn more on the INACSL Healthcare simulation standards endorsement? page . A special thank you to Fara Bowler, DNP, APRN, CHSE , Beth Fentress Hallmark, RN, PhD, CHSE-A, ANEF, FAAN , and Kelly Rossler, PhD, RN, CNE, CHSE-A , who recently presented on Endorsement at the NLN Education Summit. INACSL greatly benefits from presentations at external conferences and from colleagues who share opportunities for collaboration at our own events.
Second, it’s time to start preparing your abstracts for INACSL25 in Denver, CO! Abstracts are due by Thursday, October 31. Learn more about presentation formats and priority topics on the INACSL 2025 page . Fast-paced, 10-minute lightening sessions were a hit in Raleigh, and they’re back for INACSL25. We’re also introducing a new track focused on Simulation Operations/Technology, alongside popular favorites like Advanced Practice Registered Nurse simulation, education, research, industry, and clinical practice.
Honor our Leaders: A big thank you to the Conference Planning Committee, who have already begun shaping our agenda for June 2025.?
