Celebrate greatness in our community by sharing your stories

For the past 10 years, the Flint & Genesee Group has celebrated our region’s business and hospitality partners at the Art of Achievement Awards. Presented by the Group’s divisions Flint & Genesee Chamber and Explore Flint & Genesee , we celebrate everything from small and large businesses to hotels and attractions, as well as other special awards like Economic Development Project of the Year, the C.S. Mott Award, and the Art Hurand Award.
With this celebration, we bring together community members, local business leaders, and hospitality professionals to focus on what makes Flint & Genesee a great place to live, work, play, and visit. I look forward to this event each year. I love to see the community support and celebrate each other, and I feel honored to be a part of that.
However, first comes your part – helping us find these amazing organizations and individuals to celebrate! Nominations are currently being accepted for 14 categories of business and hospitality awards. These categories include: Business Impact Award, Small Business Award, Minority-Owned Business Award, Claire M. White Award, Young Professional Leader Award, Nonprofit Impact Award, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Champion Award, Hotel Ambassador of the Year, Frontline Ambassador of the Year, Attraction of the Year, Bryant “BB” Nolden Community Champion Award, Restaurant of the Year, Hotel of the Year, and CTA of the Year.
Nominations from the community have given us the opportunity to honor so many amazing organizations and individuals over the past decade. Just a few examples include Back to the Bricks - Car Cruise which received Attraction of the Year in 2022, Spud Software Inc. which received the Small Business award in 2019, John Saites from Churchill’s Food & Spirits who received Frontline Ambassador of the Year in 2018, and Legal Services of Eastern Michigan which took home the Nonprofit Impact Award in the inaugural Art of Achievement Awards in 2014. This is all thanks to people like you who took a few minutes out of their day to share a positive experience they had in Genesee County. It could be a small business who went the extra mile, the bartender at your favorite restaurant who always remembers what you like, an attraction that you can’t wait to take any out-of-towner to, or someone you know who’s making a significant impact in our community.
We want to share your stories of the amazing things happening in Flint & Genesee. I see great things happening every day in our region and I know that you do, too.
