Celebrate the good stuff.

Celebrate the good stuff.

A couple of weeks ago I met a really inspirational person who asked the question “ do you celebrate the good days?” and I thought, oh boy! We are really bad at this!!!

When a recruitment project goes wrong we definitely discuss, analyse and at times beat ourselves up and ask what we could have done better. But we very, very rarely reflect on why we had such a great success. Happily, I can report we changed this immediately and have started to reflect on the positive achievements. So, as Wagstaff Recruitment turns 7 years old I want to celebrate the good stuff.

I love my job! The industry frustrates me to the moon and back at times! But I really love my job and I am very grateful that 24 years in I can still say that.

I work with great people, people who took a chance and joined me when we were in the very early days and who I have learnt lots from as we developed our consultancy,(always employ people smarter than you!)

In the past 7 years I have been supported by a great business coach, industry colleagues and great friends, (Plus having my dog in the office for a quick cuddle every now and again helps, oh and a pretty wonderful hubby too!)

Our industry, like many industries, is hard going at times. Business, economic, people and process challenges, but we have no "7 year itch" and the biggest thing I have learnt this year, as we constantly strive for improvement and achievement is to definitely; celebrate the successes – thanks for the nudge Heather Fisher!

I agree with you Ruth we don't celebrate our successes enough. We need people like Heather Fisher to remind us every now and again about the good things in life. What an inspirational lady!
