CEIPAL Hosts Women-Panel on Effective Leadership Strategies During COVID19

As CEO of CEIPAL, it was my pleasure to host a three-women webinar panel on leadership styles and strategies during COVID19!
These last few months have highlighted how women leaders are succeeding in their response to the virus at an international level. And so, we invited some of the industry’s female leaders, including Hetal Parikh, President of Rangam Consultants, Dawn Burke, Sr. Consultant at Recruiting Toolbox and Founder of Dawn Burke HR, and Divya Pant, Director of HR at CEIPAL, to discuss the unique strengths of female leadership and what lessons we can learn.
These wonderful women shared the following insights:
- Effective female leaders strike a balance between empathy and action. All our panelists agreed that women leaders are generally more empathetic than male leaders, intentionally taking time to listen to their employees. But the most effective female leaders will not only listen. They’ll also take decisive action based on the information they’ve received to achieve results.
- Effective leaders, regardless of gender, will rely on technology-led strategies. With COVID19 changing the business world overnight, effective leaders have capitalized on technology-led strategy to keep their workforce engaged. Our panelists recommended creating open systems of communication through modern technology so that employees can collaborate and work as a team. In an age of enforced quarantine, these personal touches are more important than ever to maintain high morale and engage employees effectively.
- Effective leaders believe in themselves. All our panelists shared stories about their careers as women, the challenges they faced, and the successes they achieved. And each panelist had the same message: work hard and believe in yourself. For women, especially women in male-dominated industries, confidence in yourself and passion for your work are crucial to success. Disregard the judgments of others and pursue your strengths until you’ve accomplished your goals.
At CEIPAL, we’ll continue to promote gender diversity and effective leadership. Of our +600 registrants, 62% were women—the highest number of female attendees yet! I want to thank every one of the amazing women who took the time to share their experiences with all of us.
