 Introduction of CEFR Course :

 The Common European Framework of Reference for languages: Learning, teaching, assessment (CEFR) is a framework, published by the Council of Europe in 2001, which describes language learner' ability in terms of speaking, reading, listening and writing at six reference levels. CEFR provides a common basis for the elaboration of language syllabuses, curriculum guidelines, examinations, textbook, etc. It was envisaged primarily as a planning tool whose aim was to promote “transparency and coherence” in language education.

 These six levels are named as follows:

The CEFR is not a method, but it is considerably more than just a set of six proficiency levels. It offers an opportunity to review current practice and to link together planning, teaching and assessment. The CEFR “Can do” descriptors can help us to establish a link between real world tasks and the language points and other competences that are necessary to perform those tasks effectively.

 Here are some typical “Can do” descriptors that were calibrated to Level A1&A2.

Since the publication of CEFR, it has been translated into 40 languages and influenced language standards, curricula and examination reform not only in the European context for which it was intended, but increasingly, around the world. IELTS, TOEFL and other language tests are also benchmarked against CEFR. Level matching is shown in the figure below:

 The final purpose of the course is to improve the student’s communicative language skills, not just learn some words and grammar.
