HPE Partner Ready Vantage is an award-winning program providing partners the ability to augment their sales, service and development capabilities through a combination of competencies and Centers of Expertise. The program provides enablement, workshops and access to HPE intellectual property so partners can create new opportunities, increase margins, and expand their recurring revenue streams. It is structured to support partner business models, however they choose to go to market.
At HPE Discover 2024 we had the opportunity to talk with Allan Mugu, Director of Hybrid Infrastructure at CDW, about how HPE Partner Ready Vantage supports their success with customers. CDW is a long time HPE partner, and today participates in the Sell and Service Tracks of HPE Partner Ready Vantage. In the Sell Track, they resell HPE GreenLake as part of the As-a-Service Center of Expertise .
It’s through their participation in the Service Track that CDW can expand through Managed Services, Professional Services and Customer Success Centers of Expertise to wrap their services around the HPE offers they sell. According to Allan, CDW values the ability to “work very closely with HPE to deliver outcomes and make technology work—so our customers can do great things.” The Managed Services center, prepares them for customer engagements from the very beginning, designing solutions and identifying what’s needed for their workloads. After delivering the solutions, the CDW team performs quarterly health checks, and provides guidance on when to refresh assets or deploy new solutions to keep up with the market.?

Enhancing their practices across multiple Centers of Expertise is an important program element that is expanded by expertise building. According to Allan, Customers look to companies like CDW to make sure everything runs right in complex IT environments, and the competencies earned within HPE Partner Ready Vantage provide “a clear indication to our customers that we can deliver as well as execute on the solutions that they're looking for.?So, having those competencies is a direct correlation to the value that I'm offering to our customers.”?
Being an HPE Partner Ready Vantage partner helps CDW expand opportunities. Allan shared how CDW recently worked with a retail customer looking for an edge solution. CDW had multiple competencies across HPE’s portfolio, so they were able to identify other areas where they could serve the customer and provided a full stack solution. Allan explains that the solution ended up evolving from an edge solution to a “solution that covered compute, storage, and networking. What’s really beautiful about that is the customer had to only work with one partner, CDW. Given the scale of our capabilities, we're able to offer that customer one-stop-shop where they can have their solutions all covered by us.”?
According to Allan, “when we think about our partnership with HPE, what really stands out to us is the collaboration that we have. It's really about delivering outcomes to our customers. We both bring our value and our differentiated capabilities and are able to offer our customers solutions and really take technology and make it work for them.” Allan continues, “HPE has done a really good job with creating tracks where partners can identify where they fit in. And one of the things that we love about the HPE Partner Ready Vantage program is that CDW can lean into the areas we are really good at, and that's around services. So, we're able to add CDW services on top of HPE solutions and then provide this full outcome to the customer.”
