Accounting and Automation Support Bureau

The Accounting and Automation Support Bureau:

  • Actively participates in the County Expense Claim Reporting Information System (CECRIS) Project using Agile-SCRUM methodology.
  • Contributes to the procurement process and monitors contract obligations to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Utilizes the Employee Service Center to streamline labor distribution, ensuring fiscal integrity in FI$Cal month-end and year-end processes.
  • Ensures cost allocation follows federally approved methodology in line with the Budget Act.
  • Provides financial reports and analysis to stakeholders and department users.

Job Description & Duties

The Accounting and Automation Support Bureau is recruiting a motivated self-starter to join the Travel and Payroll Unit as an Accountant Trainee (AT) or Accounting Officer, Specialist (AO-Spec).

Accountant Trainee (AT)

The AT will train in accounting functions related to payroll and travel expense claim reimbursement while ensuring fiscal integrity. Responsibilities include:

  • Learning to process employee accounts for timely issuance and clearance.
  • Assisting in policy and payment processes for payroll and travel expenses.
  • Supporting the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) implementation.

Accounting Officer, Specialist (AO-Spec)

The AO-Spec will:

  • Handle accounting functions related to payroll and travel expense reimbursement to maintain CDSS' fiscal integrity.
  • Collaborate with Personnel Bureau analysts to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Support FI$Cal implementation and operational needs.
