The Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) projects is critical for defining the technical and economic feasibility of capturing, transporting, and permanently storing CO? emissions. This phase involves detailed studies to optimize process configurations, site selection, and integration with existing facilities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Key deliverables include process flow diagrams (PFDs), heat and mass balance analyses, material selection for corrosion resistance, equipment specifications, and cost estimation. The FEED phase provides a robust framework for risk management and serves as the foundation for decision-making, enabling stakeholders to transition into the EPC phase with confidence in achieving project objectives efficiently and sustainably.
