CCG LinkedIn Newsletter - Issue 9: Fire Door Safety Awareness Week
CCG (Scotland) Ltd
Building a sustainable & progressive future | Contractor & manufacturer | Delivering low energy homes across Scotland
Fire Door Safety Week [25/09-29/09] is a campaign that aims to raise awareness of the critical role of fire doors in saving lives and protecting property. Everyone plays their part in ensuring a fire door performs as it should in the tragic event of a fire, from the manufacturer through to the building users, and knowing what to look out for and what to do if you spot a problem might just save a life.
As a manufacturer and installer of engineered timber fire doors, CCG proudly supports this campaign and our clients who have invested in their housing stock and improved fire safety.
A recent example of our work in this area is a multi-phase planned maintenance workstream with South Lanarkshire Council . Over the past year, we have been installing enhanced door sets in high-rise residential accommodation across the towns of Cambuslang and East Kilbride which, upon the contracts completion in 2024, will benefit over 600 residences.
We currently find ourselves in East Kilbride at Sadler’s Well, one of three high-rise blocks that is receiving a range of FD60 door sets as part of a full supply and fit service led by our in-house divisions, ‘Manufacturing’ and ‘Asset Management’. The 835 door sets that are supporting this contract are manufactured just over 6 miles away and as a result of their 60-minute performance, they will greatly improve fire safety and security for tenants for many years to come.
