The CCG Group has received numerous accolades from some of the most respected organisations in our industry. Our projects have been nominated, commended and awarded for their excellence in design, quality and sustainability across the UK.
Queens Quay: star project of the year
Our standout project of the year was Queens Quay, a 146-home development that revitalised the historic John Brown Shipyard in Clydebank. We delivered this project in collaboration with LORETTO HOUSING ASSOCIATION LIMITED , a member of Wheatley Group ; West Dunbartonshire Council , and Clydebank Housing Association Ltd .
Queens Quay won four prestigious awards this year, demonstrating our innovation and expertise in regeneration. The awards were:
The development was part of the masterplan’s first residential phase, which followed other projects like a health centre and an energy centre. CCG contributed towards the wider strategy and helped construct a new pedestrian route to the town centre. There were also four commercial units added as well as some urban features along the route.

In a later stage of the wider master plan, CCG developed Queens Quay House. Delivered on behalf of West Dunbartonshire Council, the 84-bed facility has been designed to reflect modern living including special features and soft furnishings to support elderly residents living with dementia.
Both developments were constructed using a structural steel frame integrated with the CCG ‘iQ’, closed panel wall zones. This enhanced building fabric is complemented by an entirely renewable, district heating network that is the largest of its kind in the UK.
Managed by Vital Energi Utilities Limited The Queens Quay Heat Pump Scheme uses a Water Source solution that generates energy from the River Clyde. The £20m energy centre connects to an insulated pipe network that distributes heating and hot water services to the development with plots individually served through the use of Heat Interface Units (HIUs) installed by CCG Group member, Arc Tech (Scotland) Ltd
CCG was able to commit to an array of community benefit obligations. The development was responsible for the employment of 6 new starts, 3 apprentices and 6 work placements. There was also a community investment sum of £62,000.
CCG would like to extend their congratulations and thanks to the design team, MAST Architects and engineering consultants G3 Consulting Engineers Ltd. on this massive feat.
We would like to thank the contracts manager for Queens Quay, Barry Gall , and the project manager, Ian Wilson, for their outstanding work. We would also like to acknowledge the many branches and individuals within CCG who contributed to this award-winning development.
