CCEP SIDCUP VINDALOO
WEEK 26……..THE WEEK WE SECURED THE TREBLE
Na, Na, Na, Bonjour, Na, Na, Na Vindaloo, Na, Na, NA?- We are Sidcup
“Me, my Mum and My Dad celebrated with a bucket of Vindaloo” announced QESH Senior Manager, Jane Marchant, as she heralded the unprecedented week which saw Sidcup passing 3 Audits, alongside a visit from the Environmental Agency, what’s most impressive from the ISO Audit team was that there were no Major or Minor findings across Safety, Environment of Quality – back of the net! This achievement is a significant operational milestone in receiving certification from the International Standards Organization and a real affirmation of the QESH teams integrated approach to driving the governance agenda.
ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 aka ‘The Holy Grail’ - following an exhaustive verification process over the course of Week 26, the ISO auditors were most impressed by a series of initiatives implemented over the last 12 months to satisfy their and more importantly ISO requirements, leading to the granting of certifications for the elusive “No Findings” treble.
Given the scale of the Sidcup operation, producing over 65% of the CCEP GB portfolio, the achievement means Sidcup can be rightly proud of the strength of governance in place across Safety, Environment and Quality. Moreover, it demonstrates Sidcup’s ability and commitment to delivering quality beverages to our consumers while placing our commitment to environmental governance and safety at the heart of our operation, a point reinforced by the audit team, ‘it feels so integrated as the way things are done here’?pleasing feedback for a team who have remained steadfast in their pursuit of ensuring QESH(Quality, Environment, Safety and Health) is embedded into all areas of our operation.
The ISO's harmonised standard is based on distinct quality management principles while achieving the ISO certification means Sidcup has successfully demonstrated the integration of Safety, Environment and Quality processes while considering a broader scope of impacts upon the operation including raising the bar on continuous improvement. Obtaining the ISO certification validates Sidcup's bolstered QESH infrastructure and demonstrates we are well-protected to provide quality beverages for our consumers.

Despite contending with an ongoing global pandemic that put tremendous pressure on our team, Sidcup developed and implemented a governance programme that significantly bolstered its audit capability. Leading QESH member, Pam Hills, commented: "The combined acquisition of these particular ISO classifications is not a very common occurrence, but a welcome one – and rightly so. Governance remains central to our pursuit, while being proud to produce the Nation’s favourite beverages we want to ensure we do it safely, protecting the environment while placing the consumer at the centre of our operation. To operate in the fiercely competitive soft drinks sector requires maintaining quality and transparency across all areas of our operation. These classifications are validations that we're doing just that".
With a beaming smile, Pest Control expert Karen Chapman said, “Our customers demand the highest level of quality in accordance with industry standards and best practice. Maintaining the rigorous ISO certification demonstrates that we are doing exactly that. It’s critical to our mission, here in Sidcup the team are committed to seeing this standard met and ongoing certification achieved,” said Karen. “I am proud of how we have come together as a Site to embrace the standard and fully commit to retaining it.”
The certification highlights Sidcup’s commitment to meeting and exceeding the increasingly stringent industry requirements for governance and assures that its products consistently meet or exceed the requirements and expectations of customer’s presenting the most challenging applications.
