CCEP Sidcup Record Breaking Can Can

The Can-Can, is a high-energy, physically demanding dance that gained popularity in French cabaret however for the Line 6 Team at CCEP Sidcup they understand the Can-Can to be something different – can they break records – Yes they “Can, Can”.

On Sunday 2nd February, the team banished the January blues and started February with a roaring performance by producing 58,320 cases of 2x12 pack in a 150ml can, nearly 1.4million cans in a 12-hour shift! Like the famous Can-Can dancers the team of Stuart Lee, Charlie Justice and Matt Henry were jubilant with their success with high kicks, splits, and cartwheels becoming the order of the day as they skipped towards Team Leader Brian Head to inform him of the news.

Always the man for the big occasion, Brian had the Team line-up and gave a Can-Can rendition, while he began to speak on their behalf, “On days like day, I love my job! This morning I got the team in a huddle and told them this was their day however, what they delivered was a dizzying head-twister of a performance to blow away the previous record of Sean Donohue.” TOWIE fan Sean’s record had stood, imperious and unchallenged, for 3 years until Green Shift obliterated it.

Wearing a huge smile and a determined look that had helped to propel his team towards this record performance – a record that had seemed unthinkable as dawn broke over South London. However, it was a record that dazed and dazzled pretty much everyone including colleague Paul Hedges, as Paul put it afterwards “Talk about raising the bar”. Incredibly, Brain believes that he could go on to top this performance. “I think it is possible to go further and top the 1.4million can mark, better still we are focused on doing this again.”

After this, would anyone dare bet against him? The whispers had grown during the week that Brian was gunning for Sean’s record. The Green Shift leader had demonstrated his sensational form last month with some spell-binding performances on Line 7, it was clear that a serious attempt was on and he was set on knocking the Essex man of the leader board.

The first SIC check indicated that the team were running at breakneck speed, but that only encouraged the team to press harder. The Team on Line 7 were wondering whether they had overcooked their pace and might eventually boil over. It never happened. They went through halfway with 27k cases in the bag and another telling surge shortly afterwards meant it clear that the record was in their grasp. “I was not expecting this,” said Charlie Justice shortly after crossing the 6am threshold. “This is amazing for us, particular thanks to the wider support team in Process, Goods In Laboratory and our Techs.”

“If you had told me when I set the record in 2017 that it would last that long I wouldn’t have believed it,” Donohue said. “But I always knew this time would come – and when I heard Green Shift were gunning for it I knew the record would go.” Well done Line 6 Green Shift………..message to Blue, Yellow and Red shift….Can you top this?…we know you Can-Can!
