Centre for Crop and Disease Management
The CCDM, with investment and co-support from Curtin and GRDC, reduces the impact of crop disease for Aussie growers.
CCDM's 10th Anniversary
This month we celebrated CCDM's 10th Anniversary, marking a decade of impactful research and innovation in reducing the economic impact of crop disease for Australian growers.
Our director, Mark Gibberd, who has been with our centre from the beginning, highlighted the CCDM's journey to becoming a success story of capability building and sustained industry-led innovation. With over 120 research staff and students, CCDM is not only focused on improving long-term solutions for managing crop disease but also exploring new directions in agricultural data analytics.
It was brilliant to also hear speeches from Curtin’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Harlene Hayne, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research Professor Melinda Fitzgerald, and Chair of the Grains Research and Development Corporation Mr John Woods last night.
Thank you to all our partners, collaborators, and the exceptional staff and students whose dedication and hard work have been instrumental in shaping the centre into what it is today.
Farmers share on-farm research success stories in new booklet
Farmer stories that demonstrate the utility of rigorous on-farm experimentation in improving profitability have been released to the Australian grains industry.
The new ‘On Farm Experimentation Grower Case Studies’ booklet is a result of the On-Farm Experimentation project led by Curtin University’s Centre for Crop and Disease Management (CCDM) and highlights the value of farmer-led paddock-scale trials using farm equipment to find solutions to nutrition management.
DataHarvest
DataHarvest – a new partnership between GRDC and Curtin University – is set to build expertise to advance the management of grains RD&E data for Australian grain growers.
Led by CCDM’s Fatima Naim, DataHarvest will achieve its goal by upskilling more than 80 GRDC research partners Australia-wide to ensure they can expertly collect, manage and appropriately share grains RD&E data in a standardised way.
