Is CBSE class 11 and 12 maths tough?
Mathematics is one of those subjects which scare the students the most. It requires not just practice but also a keen interest and will power to pursue it without getting demoralised.
A transition from class 10th to 11th is a very difficult one not only because one needs to pursue the streams they have chosen but also because the pattern of syllabus changes dramatically. Math in class 10th has a stark difference to the Math in 11th and 12th standard. This fact leads to nervousness among students when they enter 11th.
Math in 11th is a “tough nut to crack” for students initially because they are not used to the new concepts and methods. As and when they get the hang of the concepts, they start gaining interest in the subject. Math of 11th standard is analytical and a little abstract. The only way to overcome such strangeness with the subject is to practice it as much as you can. Some of the difficult chapters that may distress most students are Permutation and Combination, Trigonometry etc.
12th standard’s Math is more application-based and will seem easier than that of 11th. It will need practice and concentration. Some concepts that may seem like a tad bit difficult to you are Calculus since they can’t be mastered without rigorous practice.
Solving every chapter from the NCERT Book at least 3 times is a good way to get familiar with concepts and questions well enough to solve any question afterwards. Books like R.D Sharma and R.S Aggarwal have solved examples as well as extended exercises which, if done thoroughly, will be of great help in understanding the concepts further. Getting your doubts cleared is quintessential in Math so that the confusion doesn’t build up so much so that it becomes difficult to clarify.
Math requires you to have a keen interest and a mind that doesn’t give up easily because it can only be mastered through extensive hard work, concentration and will power.
