CBO25 - The nature of discussions

Last Wednesday evening, I was fortunate to be part of the Diversifi global team that brought together the top Chief Behavioural Officers in business from around the world and hosted the inaugural CBO25 Summit.

?It was great to see connections being made and a community formed, and several key topics were discussed.

?The first topic, building capability within organisations, was a key priority, as leaders discussed where teams were located, what skills were being developed and how value was being created. It was interesting to hear how smaller teams were focussed on particular parts of the business, whereas bigger behavioural science units, were effectively building a ‘team of teams’.

?The conversation then moved onto the future of applied behavioural science and many?CBOs?were starting to develop and integrate behavioural design and behavioural data science skills into their forward-facing capability.

?It was pleasing to hear that a broad consensus was reached on the importance of developing ethical frameworks across the world. It was also recognised that these frameworks need to be flexible to work for different sectors and cultures and regions around the world.

?And finally, the group acknowledged the need to create a global resourcing pool with open channels of communication within the worldwide behavioural science community, to help facilitate movement of talent.

?A great event, a desire to do more and an overwhelming sense of collaboration and cooperation, bodes well for the future of applied behavioural science in business.
