CBI Yorkshire and Humber walks the wall

Last week saw the majority of pupils in the our region return to school and whilst for some they will bounce back into the classroom without a backwards glance for others it will be with a sense of trepidation and also excitement.

For a few though, it will be the opportunity to get back into routine, not just in the classroom but also at mealtimes, an opportunity to put on the weight that sadly they have lost over the summer break, something that the majority of us cannot begin to imagine.

As you may know, for the last 4 years, the CBI and its members have been supporting breakfast clubs right around the country to ensure that the children who attend the partner schools get access to a free and filling breakfast and an opportunity to prepare for their day either by playing some games or having some quiet time. We currently support three breakfast clubs in our region one in Barnsley, one in Bradford and one in Hull. As well as continuing to support our established ones, it has long been our ambition to open another one in North Yorkshire.

To achieve that ambition the CBI Yorkshire and Humber team will be walking the most challenging part of Hadrian’s wall on 26th September and would be most grateful if you would consider supporting us.
