CBCT reading tips, Diagnosing the fracture tooth!
Diagnosing the fracture/cracked tooth may be the most challenging interpretation on CBCT scan, and many a times we may under diagnose or over diagnose the same.
Follow this when you try to diagnose the crack tooth on #CBCT #NEXT #TIME
1. Always open the software and study in continuous dynamic navigation instead of sections (MPR). Do not study few slices and jump to conclusion.
2. Try and gather information of structure surrounding the tooth first and later get the tooth details.
3. As in at attached case there is no caries with left first molar but note the amount of peri- radicular infection (secondary to crack which is clear in MPR view on software).
4. Know your CBCT artifacts well and keep them as differential diagnosis.
