CAVU

Much research went into the preparation of this chapter, as its meaning is something very special to me.

On November 30, 2018, former President George H.W. Bush died at age 94.

His friends and family used code word CAVU to spread the news.

“For anyone who has ever been a pilot, it is familiar … it stands for Ceiling and Visibility Unlimited.”

These words had much significance for our former President.

It has a different significance for me. Today, I have assumed the pilot’s seat of my own life.

I am a storyteller with a passion for doing everything within my capabilities to help in caring for senior dogs who may be facing an end of life situation.

There are many who may have difficulty in understanding this concept.

I am far from unique, as there are many who share the same feelings.

One should never give up their canine family member simply because they have reached an age in which much 24-hour care is required. This is my opinion based on what I have witnessed over many years.

Unless there is a change in the family dynamics, which directly affects the continued care of an elderly dog, this is a very sore spot for me to accept.

I do have my reasons for publishing this particular chapter in this ongoing series.

Many may wonder why it is not being included in -

I have chosen to publish it in this ongoing series as I now have a clear-cut vision as to what my purpose has always been.

It simply took a leap of faith, along with belief enough in me, to let go of things, which are no longer suitable, or even desired by me.

Life holds no guarantees for anyone. I have accomplished many things, all which have stood me in good stead providing learning tools as well as areas in which to experience growth.

Through it all, my journey has always kept me on the same path.

I am now able to say, for myself, with confidence …
