Cautious Optimism and a Dose of Positivity.......Fuelling ITT Hub 2021
Monday 19th April 2021
Just 3 years ago this week we signed off the Business Plan to launch ITT Hub and bring the road transport an exciting, refreshing, and innovative alternative for events in the road transport market.
Here we are with 10 weeks to go to doors opening and that dream is just around the corner on what has been a very bumpy road which generated some personal reflection in recent days on our journey to date:
On our journey, there have been highs and the lows
1) We did not foresee 2 postponements of our launch show
2) The focus on zero emissions, climate change, and sustainability is now even more critical every day for all of us to reach net-zero
3) Over 130 companies and organisations are behind us to stage something new and exciting with the largest range of latest vehicles to drive and experience
4) Some of the top leading brands taking part with fantastic Commercial Partners in Lloyds Banking Group, Lex Autolease, National Grid, and Centrica
5) Dealing with the uncertainty every day with exhibitors and visitors asking “ will you be able to run the show due to COVID 19?”
6) Having to find answers to questions never dealt with before
7) Managing the financial challenges of a “start up” company in a pandemic with 3 years overhead to deliver show 1
8) Creating the ITT Hub brand with the news channel, podcasts, webinars to give the market something fresh and innovative to engage with
9) Building strong and creative relationships with the Binswood Media and the Farnborough International teams to make ITT Hub the leading showcase of its kind over the next 5 years
10) A hugely engaging and supportive Advisory Board led by our pragmatic and encouraging Chairman Leon Daniels OBE
11) A proactive, committed and high profile strategic partner with our friends from Logistics UK
12) Supporting exhibitors who have some fantastic products, vehicles, and services being launched at their first-ever ITT Hub
13) Planning our Exhibitor Day on 19th May to support our customers to make the most from their participation
14) Exciting plans for welcoming Major Time Peake and for us to host an exhibitor barbeque to welcome everyone to Farnborough this summer (www.itthub.co.uk)
So as our journey continues I want to thank everyone who has supported us and stayed with us on our journey to date. Yes, we have plenty of companies who are “sitting it out” and taking time to see when and if ITT Hub is for them before they exhibit or visit, perfectly reasonable. We hope that in years to come other brands will be attracted to the Hub but that is for future years. Right now a HUGE thank you to all those visitors and exhibitors who are going to be with us this summer and for believing in our vision….and there are more exciting names coming very soon once we are ok to announce.
As an exhibitor said at the weekend to me in a personal message “ The timing of this event just feels so 'on point' now, you must be mega excited. All this work, for so long, and so many hurdles.” This is the kind of fuel that is driving our team onwards to make ITT Hub a fantastic success.
We won’t get everything right in year one and honestly right now we have no idea how many folk will rock up. What I do know is that we are working harder than ever to deliver a 2-day event that allows the industry to come together safely, responsibly and to find solutions that will help road transport be a major driver in tackling climate change to protect our kids’ kids’ future.
We’re not there yet but there is still time to join us if you are feeling more confident about face to face meetings again. Come and reconnect with customers, colleagues, industry players at a venue that is the future.
Above all, never give up on following your dreams and stay resolute in your beliefs.
