Cathy Greene: Accountability, Connection, and Support

Before the pandemic, business owners were meeting in many different ways - networking, co-working, and other supportive groups. The key benefits were accountability, connection, and support. I first met Cathy Greene, a psychic medium, at a networking group. She considered herself organized and could get things done but had no real intention behind what she was doing.
Then COVID hit, and like many business owners, Cathy was going with the flow in her business. While that was okay, she had this whole list of projects and thoughts about what she wanted to do but wasn’t getting done.?
Our initial time working together was in an online 12-week group I ran for planning, accountability, and support around the execution of necessary tasks. The way I work with clients has changed since then, but the foundational pillars have remained - prioritize, plan, and execute. Repeat. Add in strategy, structure, and framework, and you’re on track for accomplishing your goals.
“I went into Kathleen’s group blindly, not knowing anything about or understanding how group programs worked. But when I met Kathleen, I thought, I want some of what she's selling.” - Cathy G.
I love seeing my clients gain confidence and clarity as they move forward in action from utilizing my CEO Power Planning sessions to set 12-week goals and create an action plan to achieve them, and Weekly CEO Hours to plan and organize their week to make it happen.
I also enjoy watching them have their first few “Aha!” moments.
Cathy’s First “Aha!”: Boundaries
I always share some of my boundaries with my clients. One of them is not taking calls on Friday, and finishing at noon. It took Cathy a few months to implement this because she had things on her calendar, but she eventually stopped seeing clients on Fridays.?
Cathy shared with me that before working together, she was constantly in her office on the weekends finishing up all the tasks she didn’t get to the week before. Now, if something comes up, or someone calls or texts her about business, it waits until Monday.
Cathy’s Second “Aha!”: Adding Structure To Her Schedule
Again, I share with my clients that I take one or two weeks off around the Christmas break. It’s a busy time for everyone, and Cathy is not exempt. After a year or so of using my framework, she was able to finally take that time off around the holidays, relieving stress and supporting work-life balance.
“Kathleen helped me realize that my schedule is my schedule. I get to control it, manage it, and create it. Now I schedule all of my vacation time for the whole year.” - Cathy G.
Cathy’s Third “Aha!”: Finances
As a young girl, Cathy was taught not to talk with others about money. Money doesn’t grow on trees, and other negative connotations around money were instilled in her at a young age. Now she feels very comfortable sharing her financial goals and wins with the people in her circle.?
She realized that if she’s organized, follows her plan and strategy, and does her marketing, then the money will come.
“Working with Kathleen helps you understand, “This is my goal, this is achievable, this is how I'm going to achieve it.” - Cathy G.
One project Cathy recently chose during CEO Power Planning and worked on in her weekly CEO Hour was shifting a class she had taught online during the pandemic back to an in-person class that she now co-teaches with a business colleague.?
Although it was profitable online, it was a lot of work and she got burnt out. She didn't want to do it again, at least not the way she was doing it, so she did nothing. Then Cathy decided that since she loves teaching and sharing knowledge, she wanted to put a little more intention and energy into it, and now co-teaches the class in person with a colleague.?
“Kathleen will suggest looking at a challenge from a different angle, and I think, ‘That's a strategy I hadn't thought of.’ It helps you see there are other possible strategies.” - Cathy G.
I asked Cathy about her opinion of the value of both frameworks together. She said someone could benefit from just doing a weekly CEO Hour. It's worth it. But together with the CEO Power Planning, the continued support from CEO Hour takes it to a totally different level. Both things are incredibly helpful so it just makes sense to do them both.
Overall, one of Cathy’s main takeaways from using these systems is that she realized she needs accountability, connection, and support - a partner or group for accountability, and co-working with other business owners, to stay on track. The key for all of my clients is finding out what works for them and then putting the necessary actions in place to keep the momentum going.
“Every year I get clearer, more tight, more precise, and more strategic. I would not be where I am now without these CEO Power Planning sessions and my weekly CEO Hour.” - Cathy G.

2 天前I don't schedule meetings with clients or prospective clients on Friday either. I've been doing it for several years now too and it's been a great decision. I need the time to task/pump out client deliverables, take care of bookkeeping and other business admin. tasks, catch up on work, and plan for the week ahead! And, sometimes, it even allows me to have lunch in-person with someone!
