Catholic Charities Of Northeast Kansas Welcomes New Chief Development Officer

(Overland Park, Kan.) – Kurtis Grothoff has joined Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as Chief Development Officer. Grothoff will oversee development, marketing and grants for the nonprofit organization, which provides help, hope and hospitality to individuals and families of all faiths throughout the 21 counties of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.

?Grothoff most recently served as the Development & Marketing Director for Boy Scouts of America, Ozark Trails Council, Springfield, Missouri. Previous employment also included creating a language and culture assimilation program for international athletes as Cultural Consultant to the St. Louis Cardinals’ AA affiliate.

?Lauren Solidum, President & CEO, is excited to have Grothoff join the team. “Kurtis is on fire for the mission of Catholic Charities. He brings wisdom and practical experience in mobilizing others for our mission,” she said.

Grothoff shared that he is blessed to be given the opportunity to serve as Catholic Charities’ Chief Development Officer, stating, “As Catholics, we understand the importance of illustrating our faith through works, and what better way to do that than through the various programs offered by Catholic Charities.” ????

There are a multitude of ways Catholic Charities is impacting lives across the 21 counties served, Grothoff noted, adding, “They are constantly exploring innovative methods to grow a sustainable non-profit that prides itself on being client-focused and volunteer driven.”

Grothoff will bring an added perspective to the organization, especially as it relates to immigrant and refugee services. He has lived abroad, speaks Spanish fluently, is husband to a Colombian immigrant and father to a multi-ethnic daughter.

“Kurtis’ cultural experiences, along with being bilingual, will be great assets for introducing and engaging diverse populations into the support of Catholic Charities ministries,” said Solidum. “We are all eager to welcome Kurtis and get to work.”

A graduate of Missouri State University, Grothoff has a Master’s degree in English and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish & Global Studies.
