In July 2024, electric vehicle sales in India saw notable growth across various categories. E2W sales surged from 79,868 in June to 107,016, and E-rickshaw sales rose from 37,947 to 44,430. E3W L5 Passenger vehicles increased from 7,817 to 11,431, while E-carts grew from 4,609 to 5,186. E3W L5 Cargo/Goods also saw a rise from 1,932 to 2,618. E4W sales had a slight uptick from 7,208 to 7,539, and E-bus sales experienced significant growth from 135 to 436.

During the 12 months from August 2023 to July 2024, India saw electric vehicle (EV) sales totalling 1,767,389 units. Sales started at 127,207 units in August 2023, rising steadily to peaks such as 213,036 units in March 2024, likely due to the end-of-fiscal-year push. Despite a dip to 115,851 units in April, sales rebounded to 140,555 units in May and 139,904 units in June. July 2024 saw a remarkable surge to 179,039 units.
