Have you wondered what some of our favourite tech stories from the year have been? That was the same question presenters Tomisin Fayemi and Lee Wakefield asked the team in the run up to this special episode. Joined by most of the CommsCo team, the group discussed the burning issues of 2023 and the stories which have been the talk of the office this year. CommsCo in the News
It’s been a busy month of visibility in the media for CommsCo. Our MD Ilona Hitel penned an article for PRmoment on how PR helps organisations build their brands to increase their appeal to job candidates. It’s another advantage of PR not commonly highlighted and shows our evolving role: “we should be looking at every way to help our clients not just grow their profile and generate awareness, but also ensure they are generating leads and saving costs for the business.”
As we bid farewell to 2023, it’s only natural we start to look to the new year and ponder what might be to come over the next twelve months. Ilona stepped up to offer her predictions alongside a roster of fellow experts. Be sure to read about what may unfold in 2024.
Team Tracker
We love a team social at CommsCo, especially when it hits the festive period. The team headed to Birdies for a 9 hole extravaganza, with Roseanna Lane scooping top prize after navigating the array of courses. Babs was then on the menu as the team exchanged Secret Santa gifts and celebrated the highs and lows of 2023.
Head to our Instagram for a full rundown of a brilliant night.

As an eventful 2023 draws to a close, TFN spoke to the tech leaders about what they expected 2024 to bring. A prevailing theme emerged: the intersection of tumultuous times and the pervasive influence of AI. eflow Global CEO Ben Parker , Bayezian Co-founder and Director Glyn Heath and Amdaris ’ Chief Commercial Officer Dominic Bridgman offered their insights on what’s to come.
The theme of AI continues with Lumai ’s Head of Product Phillip Burr penning an article for Data Centre Solutions. He argues that, without a step-change in energy-efficiency, AI applications in the future will increasingly be limited by both the energy cost and environmental impact of AI processing. Radical change is needed, and collaboration is a must. Phil examines how we navigate these challenges to achieve the best results.
Despite many real estate firms viewing AML compliance as an unnecessary cost and hassle, the property industry shouldn’t see accepting fines as the norm. Investing in robust AML procedures will help you avoid reputational and monetary damage, particularly as HMRC continues to crack down on rule breakers with increasing penalties. For The Negotiator earlier this month, First AML’s UK Country Manager Simon Luke shared his thoughts on why the property industry needs to know it shouldn’t be fine with fines.?
