Catching up with... Tatiana Aguilar

  • How do you prefer your coffee?

I prefer my coffee easy and simple: Americano with a splash of almond milk.

  • How long have you worked at Colordyne?

4 years exactly. I celebrated my work anniversary earlier this month. It's crazy how fast time flies.

  • What is your favorite thing of working at Colordyne?

If I can highlight one of many, it would be the work environment. We’re a small company with a strong team that is committed to staying focused. We keep each other in check to continue moving Colordyne forward. The successful people in this team have a voice and don’t hesitate to use it to collaborate and add value. We also don’t hold back on opportunities for team-building activities. I think is part of the secret to a winning team and a healthy work environment.

  • How does your role at Colordyne support/impact customers?

I see myself as a translator in a way. I translate complex, technical information about our innovative inkjet engines into more relatable and appealing content for our audience. I listen to my sales and engineering teams and communicate their messages to our customers through different methods. In the same way, I stay alert and open-minded to understanding what our customers and potential customers are up to, where they are and how we can better support them and their businesses.

  • How has your career grown since you started at Colordyne?

My career’s blossomed at Colordyne. I joined the company fresh out of college in 2019 as a Marketing Communications Specialist. I performed this function for 3 years, diving into every opportunity I had to learn more about marketing strategy and the printing industry. Last year, I earned a promotion to Marketing Manager.

At Colordyne, I have opportunities to expand my marketing abilities and get involved in as many things as I want. I focus on that every day. I remember those days when I knew very little about the printing industry or what an inkjet engine was. Today, I enjoy geeking about these topics and continue looking for opportunities to learn more. People often don't realize it but the print industry plays a key role in our day-to-day. As a B2B marketer who supports such a successful inkjet solutions provider, it's cool to play a small part in the magic behind so many products.

  • What energizes you at work?

The talented people I get to work with, my commitment to delivering high-quality results, and the opportunities to continue learning.

  • What career advice would you give your younger self?

Thinking back to the fact that I grew up in a different country and that English is my second language, I would tell younger Tatiana that it’s ok to be scared but to continue jumping into things that scare her anyways. You can have the career you want, you just have to show up and work for it. In fact, I always use this thought to motivate myself. The sky is the limit, right?

  • What’s one thing on your bucket list?

A puppy. I’ve never had a pet... Yeah, I know... I know what you’re thinking.
